World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

Free Community Education Talk

Financial Elder Abuse – What Seniors, Families and Professionals Need to Know.

While many older Western Australians are happily "spending their children's inheritance" others are less able to enjoy their money. Sadly, the incidence of financial elder abuse among vulnerable seniors is rapidly increasing. Isolation and dependence due to frailty or dementia increases an elderly person’s risk of losing money or assets to family, caregivers or fraudsters through greed, deception, pressure or guilt.

Help stop elder abuse by joining us for a topical discussion on recognising & reporting financial elder abuse; managing family expectations around gifts, loans and inheritance; use and misuse of EPAs and Wills; and ways to protect older people from financial exploitation.

Venue: Public Trustee Building, Level 1, 553 Hay Street, Perth.

Date: Friday 15 June, 10.30 pm to 12.00 pm

Register: http://trybooking.com/VYUA or call 1300 746 116.

If you would like the Public Trustee to speak at your event but are unable to gather the required number of people, you may wish to consider partnering with another organisation or group who may also be interested.
